Brief: Concept development and handling of the competition along with communication
Successes:
- 68 schools registered for the Competition.
- 15 winners.
- 1665 new registrations of potential bone marrow donors.
- Nearly 1.7 million publication reach.
Challenges:
- To recognise teachers for their efforts and convince them that pro-social activities are an important part of educating young people.
- To encourage teachers to participate in the Competition and the #KOMÓRKOMANIA project and carry out the action of registering potential Donors.
Description:
The mission of the DKMS Foundation is to find a Donor for every Patient in the world in need of a stem cell or bone marrow transplant. The more potential Donors registered, the greater the chance for patients to find a ‘genetic twin’. For more than 30 years, the Foundation has been fighting blood cancers, and through the Teachers with Life Competition and the #KOMÓRKOMANIA project, we are building civic-minded individuals among the secondary school community who actively support the bone marrow donation initiative.
Activities:
- Updating the Competition’s formal documents and detailed communication assumptions.
- Running a press office – preparing press releases based on the results of the opinion survey “Teachers as role models” conducted in cooperation with IRCenter.
- Preparation of infographics added to press releases.
- Collaboration with the Competition ambassadors – Renata Korolczuk (biologist, youth tutor) and Aleksandra Pospieszałowska – Skuza (teacher and tiktoker @a_ps89) – communication on SoMe channels.
- Creating content for the website www.dkms.pl/nauczyciele-z-zyciem
- Organisation of the Jury’s deliberations and notification of the winners of the competition results.
- Organizing CAMP DKMS, i.e. workshops for winners of the competition on coping with professional burnout and pro-social education of youth.
- Organizing an online meeting for young people with a special guest.
